This is scary stuff. My first semester was 1965 at the old IU Extension located in downtown Indianapolis. I left in September of 1966 for advance studies at Saigon U with the U.S. military and returned to IU in 1970. Now in 2008 I once again return to pursue courses with students that put the zest for life right in my face.
Music, the sounds and the lyrics have always been a very important instrument in our social development. Retiring after many years in sales and marketing I find myself doing something I have always found interesting. JagRadio is an opportunity to be involved in the fast moving changes in the world of Media.
One thing nice about being my age, you can tell that I am a senior by the white hair. I am extremely proud to be a member of the JagRadio Team.
My jagradio program focus was on the "Pass the Mic" series and some the political programs. The type of music I like to play is jazz, soul, blues, folk and new age. I particulary like independent artists who write and sing their own music.
I've done one interview with Jennie Devoe at a concert in Danville Indiana and look forward to doing more in the spring. Basically my role is as a technical advisor.
Our first artist to perform on the stage in the campus center was Tom Shinness. Tom did an mind-blowing evening concert for us and you can view a video Dean Jim Brown took at http://journalism.iupui.edu/News/Shinness_Tom.php .
Whew! what a journey... "and the beat goes on...
